I was told by my doctor that my adrenals were over worked which is why I have been suffering from anxiety and panic attacks. I am currently not working but will return in August depending on my health. He is working with me by applying acupressure to my adrenals and I must say it has helped me out a lot but I am not 100%. My body took this turn when I became vegan without the help of a physician and my body was getting weaker and weaker to the point I could barely walk.

Just want to know if any one else out here has experienced the same thing that I have and what steps are you taking to correct the problems naturally.

Thanks,

Sherelle DeWitt-Mitchell

I have been told that my adrenal fatigue is mild and my theory is that it's related to amalgams (halfway through getting six out).  Has anyone heard of virgin coconut oil helping in this regard?  I was taking apple cider vinegar, but since I lost weight my blood pressure is a little low and I've read that ACV can add to that.

In the meantime, I've been taking an adrenal support supplement with ginseng, holy basil, ashwagandha and rhodola (SP).

Thanks,

Catherine

Thank you for referring me to this subject, Pat. I was diagnosed with "adrenal fatigue" by a naturopath doctor but I really think it is a catchall name for: "overwhelmed, overworked, menopausal tired mom". I tried the diet she recommended for about a month (Blood type) and it did not resonate with me. I have been gluten free for years but felt I needed legumes and more protein (I'm Type A). I also researched the Blood Type diet and found it was not created based on any research. WHAT???? I had read Grain Brain" and "Power Up Your Brain" by Dr. David Perlmutter before seeing the Naturopath doc and began incorporating some of his supplements and the low carb diet more fervently (except that he does not advocate beans, which I eat about once or twice a week). It helped but I was still fatigued and at times felt depressed. After seeing my wonderful Nurse Practitioner, I began compounded bio-identical hormone therapy and added a number of supplements to my regime, such as: Magnesium, zinc, selenium, Vitamin B12 and B Complex and Calcium Glycinate. In just one week I feel SO MUCH better! I already had the diet correct (not exactly the blood type diet but low carb/Paleo) and now with the added supplementation I am on the road to recovery. This week I have stepped up my meditation, yoga and work out routine. I don't know what else I can do but it seems it is all finally helping.

Key issues in my experience are sleep and sunshine, selenium, nettles and healthy fats.

Glad you are feeling better!

Pat
