How did you learn about the "Heal Thyself" site?
facebook
What does "holistic" mean to you?
Holistic to me means using the things that God provided for us to prevent illness as well as to heal ourselves from any ailments.
How long have you been interested in holistic living?
Unfortunately only about 3 years. I wish I'd known about it many years ago!!!
a little about me
I'm a 48 yr old divorced mother of 6 kids (ages 25, 21, 17, 15, 10 & 8). I currently stay at home with those still at home. I love learning about natural medicine so I am taking some online classes as well as learning all I can from books and the internet. Someday I hope to be able to help others with disease prevention and healing. In my life I have dealt with a few health problems (ovarian cysts, severe adrenal fatigue, and systemic candida). For many years I didn't know what was going on and went to many doctors trying to find the problem. Many tests later I was always told that I had allergies and doctors wanted to put me on steroids. Thankfully I had the sense enough to say "no" to that. Then finally, about 3 years ago, I went to a holistic nurse and she immediately told me that I had candida (I had had it for 20 years). It was cured very quickly after that just by cutting out sugar and using a probiotic. I did learn 15 years ago, too, that I am allergic to wheat, corn, crab, & chocolate, but not severely. Because I didn't visibly notice problems when eating these, I have continued to eat these things all these years. I have since realized that just because I don't notice visible problems, my food allergies could be causing internal inflammation that I don't know about. So I now try to avoid those foods as well as gluten also. I'm currently a little frustrated because I haven't seen much improvement in how I feel after eating gluten-free for about 3 months. I also think, though, that my adrenal fatigue has gotten worse again and I also notice some increased post-nasal drip so I assume my candida is also worse. I think I just need to be more consistent with taking my probiotics. I already eat very little sugar. I'm still trying to find the right solution to my adrenal problems.
Professional or business affiliations?
For the past 3 years I have been involved with a direct marketing company called JD Premium (www.jdpremium.com/ForYourHealth). We were one of the first companies to market krill oil and we have the cleanest, purest krill available. We have a special patented purification process which gives us the highest levels of DHA, EPA and omega 3. I have compared our bottle with all of the other competitors and we have the best. We also have pharmaceutical grade vitamin D, and an extremely good vitamin/mineral supplement as well as numerous other natural supplements and body care. Because I am such a busy mom, my business has had to take a lower priority lately. I don't push my business as much, but I still think it's extremely important for people to be taking these products.
