I made a chocolate milkshake.  No kidding.  One banana, two tbsp of cocoa powder, a cup of baby spinach, about a half cup of frozen blueberries, a scoop of protein powder and a cup of liquid (I used milk, cause that's what I had, and hey, it's calcium!).  Whirr in blender and enjoy.  Makes enough for two servings.

Sounds tasty, will have to try it! Our go to morning green smoothie (which we had this morning) is:

Frozen Banana
Frozen Greek Yogurt (Use ice cube tray for easy freezing and serving!)
Spinach/Kale (I alternate)
Very Vanilla Almond/Rice/Whatever non-dairy milk I have
Nut Butter (Whatever I have)

Whirr it up and it tastes like a dessert for breakfast! Once our veggie and protein powders get here I'll add a scoop of that too and probably up the liquid.

Sounds lovely!  Chocolate and banana hide greens so well!~!  (Mango hides green flavor too.)

I made a "strawberry smoothie" for my son and myself.  Frozen strawberries, nettles powder, an avocado, a frozen banana, my herbal "Vit C powder", chia seeds, a bit of leftover frozen smoothie, OJ, triple berry juice, water, water kefir, cinnamon and cayenne.

The homemade herbal "Vit C powder" has astragalus root powder, acai berry powder, rosehip powder, orange peel powder, acerola powder, grapefruit peel powder, chickweed powder, cinnamon powder, lemon peel powder, black seeds (nigella sativa), turmeric powder, flax seeds and milk thistle seeds.

I had to add extra water as it was too thick but we are enjoying it!

My breakfast was pretty similar for Ann's, only I'm calling it a smoothie.  :)  I took almond milk and added 2 teaspoons of Dr. Ben Kim's Greens, a scoop of Berry Hemp Protein Pwd, a cup of frozen blueberries, some frozen mango and strawberry, and a little honey and coconut oil.  Pretty good!  I also had a homemade almond-meal muffin.

I feel very healthy having had some veggies (the Greens powder has everything green you can think of!) and it's only just now lunch-time.  :)

This is such a great idea! Would love to get some leafy greens into my kids, I'm thinking "chocolate shakes" for them may be in order after dinner tonight. :)

My green smoothie this morning is:

1 banana, peeled

1 orange, peeled

1/4 beet, peeled (this is great when you are drinking your smoothie in public - makes it look nice and pink!)

three beet green leaves with stems (these were big beets!)

a wedge of purple cabbage (or is it called red cabbage?)

handful of mixed salad greens (the organic Costco baby greens)

1/2 an avocado

handful of frozen mango

handful of frozen strawberries

some filtered water (I don't measure it)

3-4 drops of Wild Orange essential oil

Made about 24 oz.

Today was a family Juice morning!

We juiced:

9 carrots

1 apple

1 lemon

1 large beet

2 celery stalks

1 cucumber

1 chunk of ginger (about 1 TBS)

1 fennel stalk

2 large collard leaves

1 large red chard leaf

4 beet green leaves

2 cups spinach

This makes 4 super yummy cups of juice!

I didn't get a chance to get to the grocery store, so had to think fast this morning.  I had a frozen container of asparagus in the freezer so microwaved it.  I at half, and then for lunch had the rest of it on a baked potato!  Pretty good too!

I just got a vitamix over the weekend (yeah!) and made a delicious (mud colored) smoothie: loads of spinach, two oranges, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, frozen banana, one kiwi.  Drank it throughout the day.  Had a salad  as well with rommaine, tomatoes, cukes, onion, cheddar cheese, avocado and dressing.  Looking forward to getting ideas of what to blend and how to incorporate more green into my diet.  :)

I love my Vitamix!

We had  bacon, sweet potatoes fried in bacon, kale and onions fried in bacon fat and eggs.

I'm curious about what brand of juicer people like.  I have a Champion juicer,  but I don't really like it that much.  You have to cut things up pretty small before they'll fit through the shute and it seems like it makes the juice get almost hot, which seems to me isn't good for the enzymes.  Anyone have a different brand of juicer that you really like?

I would get a Vitamix instead.  They are expensive, but are worth it.  I bought a reconditioned one from the company and have been very happy with it.  I have also seen them at Costco recently.  They are much more multifunctional than juicers.
