Hi all,

Anyone know of fairly safe cosmetics.  I've read about Ava Anderson and some others.  Has anyone had any experience with these or like any that you use.  I'm so tired of slowly poisioning myslef with the cosmetics on the market and spending tons of money for those poisons.   Currently I've limited my use unless it's for something important or work.

I have had great success with Everyday Minerals. They are an eco-friendly, vegan, and organic mineral makeup company based out of Austin, Tx. (I'm in Dallas, so it's the best I can do to stay "local") They have a wider range of colors than other mineral makeups, as well as they do not contain bismuth oxychloride. That ingredient many other popular mineral makeup have and are most often the cause of reactions to women with sensitive skin. They also have a free sample pack to help you find your shade, which only costs a few dollars in shipping, and the sample sizes even last a while.

If you do decide to invest in mineral makeup and like it, I suggest getting a few of their brushes. They are fabulously soft and apply well, I end up using my EM brushes just as much if not more than my professional brushes. Also, EM used to sell a bowl set so you could mix foundations or just swirl it on the brush easier, but it seems it's no longer there. I would get a few small/sm-med ceramic or glass bowls if you feel swirling in the cap isn't distributing the product on the brush well enough.

Gah! Didn't mean for this to turn into an EM commercial, I promise I don't work for them! Haha. My mother and I both have been using them for a few years now with good results, my mother having VERY sensitive skin and still breaks out even in her 40s. Other than the (lack of) bismuth oxychloride I'm not sure what else could be very toxic to the skin.

Hope this was a little helpful!

xoxo

thanks Pagan!!!

I love Miessence products.  They are a completely organic and environmentally friendly company out of Australia but their products are quite pricey but they have good products.

I came across this cool post not too long ago.
