Invite one or two of your friends to do the challenge along with you.

It really helps to have three friends keeping each other on track. (In my experience, it is easy for two people to talk themselves into skipping a day, lol...) ;-)

Glad you are joining us!

Just add GREEN to breakfast. Bet you feel great! I like greens sauteed in bacon fat, sometimes a salad, sometimes I only have time for nettles infusions in the morning. But, I feel wonderful when I start the day with green juice or green smoothies!

Pat

I love nettles for mega vitamins and minerals! Very inexpesnive from Mountain Rose Herbs. http://heal-thyself.ning.com/profiles/blogs/nettles-leaf-herbal-infusion

Saute up your spinach and eggs for breakfast. Add spices to your smoothies or fried potatoes. Beet greens are amazing! Add an avocado to your day! Lime adds a whole other zest to a smoothie! Dandelion, oatstraw or kale are very nourishing alternatives too.

Spouts and wheatgrass are easy to enjoy.

Now, I will mention Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) doesn't like raw foods and the raw foodists don't like cooked foods --- so do LISTEN to your body. In general, I'm more inclined to cooked foods during cold weather, and raw/cool foods during warm weather.

Personally, I like nettles infusions and cooked greens and pasture-raised eggs as a morning meal at this time of year. YMMV

Smoothies are super nourishing. Juicing even more bio-available. But there are the 'more fiber' and the 'no fiber' camps...

Some people do not like fats with fruits. Some people insist on fats with veggies. Some like fruits alone. Some find that protein is needed in the morning.

Start SLOWLY on whole food probiotics if they are new to you.

I love cinnamon and cayenne in beet juice with berries.

Share your recipes of the day or your favorite breakfasts, as we go along.

I'd just do 2 cups of juice or smoothie in the morning and share/freeze the rest, if this is all new to you. If you find you have a headache from too much natural detoxification, Epsom salt baths, vit C, selenium and cutting back and slowing down are easier on your body than pushing through.

Mobilizing toxins is WAY different than getting toxins OUT of the body. Slow and easy is kinder to your body. Otherwise, the toxins just redeposit into the gut, organs and brain.

Also, caution if pregnant or nursing, some folks notice detox symptoms from just increasing GREENS in their diet. Toxins go straight to breastmilk and baby.

Pat

Any large shift in gut microbials, or shift in gut ph, could cause "die-off" - which is basically dumping toxins into blood circulation to redeposit into gut, organs, brain, fetus, breastmilk. So, gradually introducing foods to balance microbials and gut ph is safer.

You don't want to just mobilize/dump toxins, you want to support the body's natural detoxification pathways with whole food nutrients. The detox system is like a funnel, you can dump a lot in but the excess toxins just spill over and circulate around the blood.

The body stores excess toxins in fat and fatty organs for us. And candida binds with toxins to store it out of circulation for us also.

Count me in!

OK - I'm in.  Never thought of adding green to each breakfast, but I AM part Irish.  Erin Go Bra!  :)

Yes, I'm in:)

I'm in!

Ok, I'm in. I don't have time for much in the morning though... Maybe I can do green smoothies.

Yes, definitely in.  Green smoothies are my breakfast choice, but it will be good to be consistent for 21 days.

Oh, and when I don't have time to finish my green smoothie (which often looks a bit like pond scum), I add beet to it - doesn't change the flavor and people are much more interested in a positive way!  For some reason we are programmed to be attracted to pink drinks but not brown.

I'm in!  I was just thinking last night that I need better breakfast ideas.
