I have someone that I need to send a SCOBY to but have no clue how I should package it. How do you all do it so that it doesn't leak, how much tea do I need to send w/ it, do I just mail it with standard shipping or will that take too long? Help asap please!! Thanks much! :)

Hi Brandy,
I asked someone else because I wasn't sure, and got some advice before I sent my first scoby. What I did was....put one scoby plus 1-2 cups of kombucha in a baggie, got out as much air as I could, then zip locked it and taped the end so it wouldn't leak. I then put that into another zip lock and zipped up the end and taped that. I did it one more time so I had three bags. Maybe overkill, but I was afraid the bag would get broken in shipping. I put the baggie in a padded envelope. And it worked, got there safe and sound. I sent it USPS, priority mail.
Great! Thx Pam. :) Pat also told me on FB that you can use the $5 flat rate box from the post office. So I think I'll do your bagging method and put it in a box. Surely that should do it?
Thanks again for the help!
