~ Food Has Power ~
I have grown up in a culture where it is permeated that salt is bad for you, cause high blood pressure etc... So I ate little salt.
My husband was quite the opposite, he ate salt by the kilo and mainly on already salty processed foods.
When I had kids, the booklets about nutrition stated that adding salt to kid's meals stresses their kidneys, so I started cooking without salt entirely. ANother thing I read was that vegetables etc already contained sufficient salt, so we shouldn't be adding any
Now I find out that adding (organic sea)salt is actually good.
So I'm wondering:
- what are some symptoms of a lack of salt
- how much salt should one be taking?
- are these doses the same in pregnancy
- what about babies and kids?
Any input on this topic welcome

Hi Laura, good to meet you. I do not have a huge knowledge of salt, but I can tell you that salt is good for you and that good salt (Himalaya salt) contains many minerals that are good for you! The processed kind is what you want to avoid using, because it is stripped of all the good minerals that raw salt contains. Having said that, you still need to use salt in moderation. I hope others are able to answer your other questions on this topic. Bless you.
You're most welcome. I hope the response to your question will grow (:
