~ Food Has Power ~
Hi there,
I am in the depths of sorting out some very perplexing health issues. When I get the results of my most recent bone marrow biopsy tomorrow, I will know whether I have leukemia. Even if I do, there's nothing they could say to convince me to do chemo at this point because I feel mostly fine except for being really tired.
My blood counts are critically low, but FINALLY rising after months of decline. I attribute this to constitutional homeopathics, Dr. John D'Onofrio's immune boosting supplement protocol, (maybe) the addition of resistant starch in my diet, and adding TONS of meat (and pancreatin and digestive enzymes to help break it down).
But, I don't think I do have leukemia. Everything points to a mild auto-immune disorder, exacerbated or connected to severe adrenal dysfunction. I have trouble falling asleep, wake around 2 and was always awake until dawn until recently when the protocols mentioned above seem to have improved my sleep duration, and then am tired and low energy most of the day. Mornings I just drag until about 2 pm, when I perk up for a while. I have energy around 9 but go to bed then, anyway, and lie awake feeling tired/wired. No amount of home care and home remedies have made any improvement; supplements for adrenal function seem to make it markedly worse.
I am wondering if I might have rheumatoid arthritis. The ANA came back negative, but I guess those tests often do. Last summer I had symptoms of what I thought was Lyme, and I never had bloodwork done because I didn't have a good option that didn't involve spending huge amounts of money and still getting dubious results, so I went to my homeopath is she treated it effectively. The two big symptoms were roaming leg pains that settled in my knees, both of which swelled hugely and became too painful to walk. The swelling abated under treatment 100% (99% until this past month when I went on this immune protocol and quit coffee for good), but I have a limited range of motion and there is no amount of stretching or therapy that will improve it. Also, prior to the swelling getting terribly serious, I had a bad cold that dragged on for weeks and ended in a series of mysterious headaches. I have no pain in other joints.
Does anyone here have experience with RA?
Sarah

Well, I guess it is leukemia again; got the results early. So the above is less mysterious after all.
