Dealing with doctors

Four and a half years ago I came to this forum with my cancer story. I was in remission, relapsed, and had a bone marrow transplant. I'm in recovery from that now, but my liver enzymes are slightly elevated, my heart sometimes pounds and races, and my pulmonary function is impaired. I am currently taking tacrolimus, bactrim and acyclovir. I *really* want to stop taking the bactrim and acyclovir, but the doctors are adamant that they are necessary. I am also in the process of refusing…See More

"Yeah. They don't seem to have much advice in that department, but maybe we can learn together. I think I can have anything cooked. I guess my focus will have to be on minimizing inflammatory foods and being careful with pH balance, so as to…"

How to rebuild the gut without probiotics?

I have a difficult situation. I am receiving a bone marrow transplant in July. After chemo I will be on immuno-suppressive drugs, prophylactic abx, anti-fungals and anti-virals for as much as a year. Sounds like a good way to trash the gut, huh? Here's the kicker- I am not allowed to eat raw foods, fermented foods, or take probiotics during this period. Any suggestions? How do I help the gut repopulate in the face of this onslaught?

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Hi there,I am in the depths of sorting out some very perplexing health issues. When I get the results of my most recent bone marrow biopsy tomorrow, I will know whether I have leukemia. Even if I do, there's nothing they could say to convince me to do chemo at this point because I feel mostly fine except for being really tired. My blood counts are critically low, but FINALLY rising after months of decline. I attribute this to constitutional homeopathics, Dr. John D'Onofrio's immune boosting…See More

New Health Journey - Lyme et al.

I'm on a pretty active section of life's rollercoaster right now! I have symptoms of Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella. I have not had bloodwork done because I haven't connected with a doc who can order good tests, and even then I am concerned that they are inaccurate. I may try to have some done but I don't have unlimited resources.I am working with a classical homeopath whom I respect a great deal. One step forward, two steps back. I am feeling positive and frustrated by turns, but learning all…See More

Reynauds

I have had Reynauds since my twenties. My right ring finger and pinky lose circulation cometely if my core temp drops. In the morning, drinking my smoothies gives me Reynauds, and they are a peoblem if I am working or playing outside. Any thoughts or experiences?

How did you learn about the "Heal Thyself" site?
Pat
What does "holistic" mean to you?
I do not believe that we are a sum of discrete parts, but rather that our nature stems from the interbeing of the "outer" and "inner" worlds of ourselves. Holistic, to me, is viewing this matrix as a whole and acknowledging the balance required for optimal function.
How long have you been interested in holistic living?
5 years?
a little about me
I am a mother, I work on a farm, my husband and I are starting a garden carpentry business, and we live in Maine.
Professional or business affiliations?
I believe that integrating our interior and exterior living spaces is fundamental to integrating our inner and outer being. Garden Joinery, LLC, offers a means of facilitating this integration through fine garden structures that are inspired by organic elements and constructed using local materials. gardenjoinery.com

Good day,

I picked interest in you after going through your short profile and demanding it be necessary to write to you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site. Could you please get back to me on (ph8304899@gmail.com) for details.

Have a nice day,

Paul Harry.

Wave! Glad you joined us. We haven't discussed teeth issues here. But there is a thread "Curing Cavities with Nutrition" on MDC: http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=399989

Basically, bone broths and green smoothies, CLO, magnesium, Nettles tea are all sources of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and whole food probiotics to help with acid/base balance and saliva ph.

If you have specific questions or concerns, consider posting a thread, you'll get more individualized responses regarding gut health, etc.

Good to hear your headache problem went away. I been plagued with headaches over the years. My stress come out at the vascular level. There are times the only thing that brings relief for me is series of enemas.
