At my last dentist appointment I was told that I have receding gums. Is there anything I can do do stop this and repair my gums?

I am a dental hygienist and am very familiar with this issue. There are a number of reasons which can cause receding gums. Look at the list below to see if any of the scenarios fit:
A. Super aggressive brushing in a horizontal motion or the use of hard bristle brushes. If so, treat yourself to a Sonicare electric brush,...best deal @ Costco and Bed Bath &Beyond w/ 20% off coupon.

B. clenching or grinding of the teeth often done while sleeping; get a bite guard made by your dentist.

C. Misalignment of teeth. Possible orthodontic solution.
D. Periodontal disease
E. poor oral hygiene as in never flossing
F. Smoking
Hope this helps!

I have heard that swishing with Cellfood drops in water is amazing for this, though I haven't tried it personally. I had receding gums - changing my brushing habits and cutting a lot of sugar, and adding vitamin C daily, has helped me...

Oil pulling - swishing any oil around in your mouth for 30 minutes , is supposed to help. As is Fermented cod liver oil and butter oil.

I also have receding gums.  Luckily it's pretty early and I hope I can reverse it.  Have you searched the internet for articles on it?  Here's one I found :          http://www.drpgilbert.com/reverse-receding-gums.html

I've bookmarked all of these and will read up and post any thoughts later.  I now have health (and dental) insurance for the first time in over 10 years and am really looking forward to tackling this and really having the finances that it takes to see a Dr that will look at the root of the prob and not just 'fix' and cause a larger problem down the road.

I took CoEnzyme Q10 100mgm for gum problems.  also changed my diet and cut out all gluten

I recently started oil pulling with some cold pressed sesame oil.

however, I over salivate, a lot. I drink a lot of water so I suspect it's that along with other factors, but even first thing in the morning my oil is overpowered by 2 to 3 times over by saliva. Does this hinder the process? They must be separated the entire time! More vigorous rinsing? What would you suggest?
