My goto for congestion is steam and broth as you mentioned. Onions and rosemary are amazing supportive herbs too.
I do trust that our body does and can fight off infection, including bacterial infections when provided with the nutrients our immune system needs. Depending upon how weak or taxed our immune system is, it might take longer. But, antibiotics damage our gut microbials which are 80% of our immune system. Besides kombucha, are you consuming any other whole food probiotics?
