~ Food Has Power ~
When I was told (by a conventional Dr) that my 3 yr history of cervical dysplacia (caused by HPV) had not and would not improve and recommended a LEEP procedure, I went to see Dr. Chad -he prefers firstname basis :-)
Chad believes the patient's trust/faith in the method/therapy is important for it's success, so the initial consultation included a questionnaire of which methods I'm familiar or have experience with and believe are effective and true ways to health. Also included in the questionnaire were general health, lifestyle and history questions and if there were any other side issues I'd like to address along the way (mine : acne, painful, ill menstruation) He then based my plan on what I feel I can implement and sustain in my life.
During my once a month visit that was in the end reduced to tri-monthly, he and his assistant tested my urine and saliva for things like ph, hormone levels and other things that indicated adrenal health, digestion, etc.
Within a year of Chad's direction through detoxing, eating right, temporary supplemtation, herbs and lifestyle changes the same Dr who had been monitoring my dysplacia for 3 yrs and said it would not get better without a LEEP, diagnosed me as having no sign of ever having dysplacia. The acne has largely cleared up and as long as I eat lots of cruciferous and take it easy on the dairy, my menses have improved (the dairy caused problems with my menstrual cycle, not as much a digestion intolerance). 6 years later, I'm still dysplacia free and the HPV is undetectable and considered to be in remission (last I knew, HPV is generally considered to be ever-present in the body once infection has occurred).
Chad's help has started me down a different path of what I consider healthy and I have expanded into eating unpasteurized, unhomogenized milk, dairy and veggie ferments, kombucha, homemade yogurt. I have just recently started making my own vinegars, kefir from grains and veggie ferments. I have also read some of Dr Weston Price's articles about health. I partly fell off the gluten-free, sugar free wagon and want to get back on. I'm still not sure if my body is meant to eat dairy, but the homemade kefir (and other live ferments) does SEEM to be increasing my tolerance.
