I need to stop consuming alcohol, coffee and sugar so that I can establish a baseline from which to examine my sleeping problems, liver function, and mood. Although I have successfully taken breaks from all these habits in the past, I find that I am unable to make a permanent shift sway from them in the way that I have from grains.
In general, I don't feel that I consume any of them to excess, but even moderation doesn't seem to be making any difference with my sleep, so I need to try something more drastic. However, I am having a very hard time sticking with it.
Would folks here be interested in a group where we talk about tricks and techniques (as well as obstacles) to habit transitions? In my mind it is not about what is, or isn't, objectively healthy, as much as it is about what makes my body feel good or bad.
