Chickens For Eggs and Maybe Meat?

We love our chickens! We've had them for less than a year. We got them for their eggs and bug-eating abilities, and now we're considering some for meat. Although we eat a lot of vegetarian meals, we are currently all omnivores. When we eat meat, it's usually deer my husband hunts for in Iowa. Cuts, Scrapes

Stop the bleeding. The fastest way to stop bleeding is to apply direct pressure. Place a clean, absorbent cloth—a bandage or a towel—over the cut, then press your hand against it firmly. If you don't have a cloth, use your fingers. This will usually stop the bleeding within a minute or two. If blood soaks through your first bandage, add a second one and press steadily. Add new bandages over old ones because removing a cloth may tear off coagulating blood cells.…

Burns

Here are a few alternatives.



An old timey solution we used was Burow's Solution. It is Aluminum Acetate resulting from the reaction of

Calcium acetate and Aluminum Sulfate. It is buffered. I imagine it is the sulfate which helps, similar to Epsom salts which is magnesium sulfate.

Wild Crafting - starting small

I have always been intrigued by the idea of wild crafting. I believe we receive the most benefit from whole foods and I love it when I can grow them at home. BUT wild crafting freaked me out.
