Can strep throat be addressed with homeopathy?

Hi everyone! I've been a member for quite a while, but have never posted (and haven't even visited much). Too much to do and I keep forgetting! I hope it is ok to ask for help on health issues (as opposed to providing information on a health issue).

My daughter has strep throat (and is being treated with amoxicillin by our nationally-known holistic-minded pediatrician). He says that even though he is anti-antibiotics, strep throat is one of the only conditions that he believes needs to be treated with antibiotics (since it can cause more serious harm to the body if is not eliminated). I'm not happy that she's on antibiotics, but don't have much of a choice, especially with an extremely traditional-minded husband.

I have had a sore throat off and on (more on) for the past 3-4 weeks. I thought it was just a virus (did you know that a virus is merely DNA/RNA material, not alive or dead...learned that from Dr. Palevsky at his presentation last night). I felt a bit lousy in the beginning, run-down and started to lose my voice during the first week and a half. Then I had slightly goopy eyes and various soreness in my mouth over several days. The last few days my main issue has been my throat as it hurts to swallow, though there have been times when it was much better. I've been thinking it is the seasonal allergies I had in NJ, just before moving to Charlotte, and then experienced again during our first spring back in NJ last year.

Now with my daughter diagnosed with strep, I'm worried that might be what I have. So, my questions are:

If it is strep and has been strep all this time, can I have caused harm by not treating it over the past 3-4 weeks?

Can homeopathy deal with strep throat?

What other natural remedies can I try? (I keep hearing, even on natural forums that strep throat is not a do-it-yourself issue.) What do you think?

Thank you, Pat, I will check it out! You are always so helpful! How are you? NJ has been cold, but spring is finally starting to show up. I will be taking the kids down to NC to see my parents towards the end of April, but I don't think we'll make it to Charlotte on this trip.

We're doing great. I just saw Cady Asch today at bowling!! Apparently, they just moved back to Charlotte!!

It has been beautiful here, except for the cold fronts which keep reminding us that it is still winter. Hope you all are doing well.
