~ Food Has Power ~
I have an MRI of my Brain and AIC as well as an MRI of my Lumbar Spine (Lower spine) scheduled for tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to this for two reasons. One, I am claustrophobic. two, I hear the dye is heavy metals and many people have had reactions to the contrast injection either immediately or a short while after. Some have even reported health problems later on and possibly related to the contrast. I found a blog (http://blog.remakehealth.com/blog_Healthcare_Consumers-0/bid/6788/W... ) that discusses some of the risks with many people sharing their personal experience in the comments.
Does anyone have advice or suggestions on what to do before or after an MRI? Does anyone have experience to share on the contrast?
The reasons for the MRI's are because of persistent head and neck pain and lower back pain causing really bad leg pains and tingling in my legs and feet. I also have very loud ringing in my ears (I'm hearing impaired) but louder than usual.
Thanks
Mikey
The iodine contrast can throw someone with Hashimotos into thyroid crisis. Someone with mercury issues could have a lot of 'stored' mercury displaced from their thyroid and dumped into blood circulation.
My priorities would be to optimize and support detox pathways: B12, MAGNESIUM, B3, B6, folate, zinc, SELENIUM are key nutrients. Additionally, molybdenum and sulfate. Vitamin C, citrus pectin, clay, apple pectin, and kelp (heavy metal tested, organic) can help to bind heavy metals and escort them out.
Salt water flush, hydration and Epsom salt baths would be my goto.
I'd try a lot of things before an MRI with contrast. Have you looked into homeopathy, Holy Basil, magnesium, anti-inflammatories like nigella sativa? EFT, aromatherapy, meditation, controlled breathing, Qigong, chiro, Reiki, acupuncture. Acupuncture is amazing for pain management.
Sending healing energy during this difficult situation. Please update.
