I heard about Fire cider years ago and as of 3 years ago started making my own. It has helped me keep viruses away as well as shoretn the cycle of them. Especially chest colds which I seem to get. If I end up with a chest cold, i like to put some of the Master Tonic in the firdge. Makes it so cooling!

Here is a pic of Master Tonic 2010:)

Yours looks really good! Mine is not that amber color. I hope I did it right.

I'm sure you did! My deeper color could be just the brand of Apple Cider Vinegar used.

Mine is brewing right now...started it on the new moon. I forwarded this recipe to all friends & family, but my elderly parents have sensitive stomachs...any suggestion to ease the "fire" for them?? Also, I have a garden full of organic herbs...have you added any to your MT??

I haven't. I tend to stick to the main recipe and sometimes forget tothink outside the box...LOL! An aquaintance of mine who is an herbalist added Elderberries to hers. I thought that was a great idea! Let me think on easing the fire a bit. Might be a tough one though as when I first learned of this recipe it was called Fire Cider. You could eliminate the pepper, but the horseradish is a pretty main componenet. How are they with Ginger? Maybe you could make a modified version? And add honey to tone it down. Another good gentle Immune boosting herb that you may want to try with family is Astragalus Root. You can get it is root, dried slices and powder. It is amazing for immune boosting, gentle, can be used daily, and pleasant tasting. Use the root or root slices and steep with soups, stews, in the crock etc..., use the flour to rpelace some of your flour in baking. Things like that.
HTH some:)

Thanks so much for all the suggestions, Jamie....I used the recipe that Pat posted & it is great...have shared it with a few friends. I put mine in my Vitamix so it is like a course applesauce. I have mixed it in broth, but my fave is a spoonful on cheese & crackers...I have even made a spread with shreaded cheese...yummy!

That sounds delicious Karen! I have some to strain today. I think I am going to try that.
