I found a 10-pack of 'Bubble Wrap cushioned mailer' yellow envelopes for mailing CD/DVDs (7.25x7.25) with self sealing adhesive at Office Max. They only cost $27 for 30 envelopes!
I have sent fresh (not dehydrated grains) with a bit of liquid kefir, double baggied, with one page of instructions. The weight was under 4 ounces. So, it cost about $5 to mail out first class from my mailbox, with all the supplies.
I wanted an easy system to send them out from home.
I do not have extra grains brewing at the moment. Usually, I have a ton. I just have my stack of envelopes next to the computer and as someone requests grains, I address the envelope and send them along.
Thanks for sharing your extra kefir grains too!
[Can not ship above 85 degrees.]
