I'm in. Is this the right place? I have concerns about whether too many dark green leafies are going to negatively effect my thyroid... can anyone share what they know about this? I have had friends caution me about eating too many greens...
Hi Pat, I am wondering about the CHO ( Carbohydrates) of berries... I had been doing at least one, but usually about half a gallon of GREEN smoothies a day and then a friend cautioned me about possible negative effect on my thyroid.. and said that berries are just as good for us as dark green leafy veg. I am at this moment undergoing twice weekly IV therapy ( Vit C, Mg, B complex, and HEEL additives) to ready me for the removal of 8 amalgam fillings- we are doing 4 and 4, the right side which has 4 and then two weeks later the left side... I also have MTHFR C and am concerned about whether or not I am even able to detox.... Ugh I am so so so confused about what to eat.... the RN who administers my IV's also does nutritional counseling... This is at my Holistic Dentist/Medical doctor's office. She suggested I try eating only 60gm CHO and that I need to get probably at least 60 Gm PRO each day... I have not been getting that much protein since I was pregnant with my now nearly 9 year old... btw, I have seen zero problems in her thus far related to possible mercury issues although I know that she can not help but have some MTHFR mutation since I have type C so I have her on 1mg Folic acid each day....I have a TON of reading to do here on this site but am so confused each day about what to eat to support my body, build muscle, lose fat, detox the mercury, support my immune system....

Susan, have you read about the IOAMT mercury removal protocols? http://heal-thyself.ning.com/profiles/blogs/amalgam-removal-risks-and

Not yet, but I have it bookmarked! : ) I will at some point today for certain!!!
My priority is addressing nutrient deficiencies with whole food nutrients and whole food probiotics BEFORE increasing toxin load and actively detoxing. http://heal-thyself.ning.com/notes/14_Steps_for_Healthy_Guts
I focus on ADDing nutrients, not limiting carbs. Adding healthy fats, choosing pasture-raised proteins without pesticides, including homemade probiotics those are more nourishing than counting grams of carbs, imo.
Consider writing an "About Me" post in the Wellness Forum with your history, what health issues you are addressing, and what alternatives you have tried. We can trouble-shoot with you more effectively with more history. http://heal-thyself.ning.com/forum
