~ Food Has Power ~
Hello all! :)
I have been having trouble finding a comprehensive list of herbal contradictions. Is there anybody who can guide me to a good online source? I have recently start encapsulating my own herbs so they are "cleaner" and I hope to soon make my own alcohol tincture. Are there any big no-brainer contradictions I should be very careful to avoid? Anything info you have to offer will be appreciated.
:D Stay groovy!

Alcohol tinctures have significantly different properties and are dosed in drops. Therefore, there is potential danger in the 'unknown'. Dry herbs, culinary herbs, infusions in water, and even those in the apple cider vinegar are very different than alcohol based tinctures.
Learning Herbs and HerbMentor are great places to start. It is an online herb resource with many gifted herbalists.
Which herbs are you encapsulating and concerned about?

Awesome thank you!! I am gonna get started with the places you suggested. If you know of any possible interactions with what I have listed, any information would be awesome.
I have these herbs to work with:
Dandelion root
Kelp
Shiitake
Pau 'd arco
Black walnut hulls
Maca root
Rose hips
Cinnamon
Ginger
Licorice
Nettle root
Nettle leaf
Milk thistle seed
Echinacea angustifolia
Bilberry leaf
Calamus
Cayenne
Chlorella
Holy basil
Black seed
Astragalus root
Fenugreek seed
Griffonia Seed
Nearly all of those are VERY dose dependent. Only play with kitchen herbs at culinary "doses" (~1/4 teaspoon).
The listed herbs all have medicinal effect and can be toxic at larger doses. "Larger" is anything more than 1 teaspoon, in general. Some are medicinal at smaller doses even.

Thank you, I appreciate your concern! I too am very cautious when approaching these herbs. :)
To provide others with the information I was seeking I have this link to share. Very excellent website & just what I was looking for.
