~ Food Has Power ~
I didn't see a blog/group or forum discussion about this topic and would be interested.
I am sure that there are mamas here who have at least some Knowledge and info or btdt experience about thyroid issues.
My 14 year old dd had proton radiation for a meningioma and she now has a within normal but border line T-3 and her tsh and T-4 are normal. This is probably due to the radiation or maybe even the tumor we don't know. I have also been wondering about the "contrast dye used in MRI's?????
Anyhoo, I don't have her lab results in fron of me yet ( they will mail them to me) and thankfully are not wanting to medicate her ..yet, so I have some time to start supporting her naturally.
I have started adding kelp to her food she drinks 1/2 cup of nettle infusion (she really doesn't love it. she eats well (not a great appetite) meats, fish, eggs everyday, cheese, broth, veggies , salads, smoothies with cocnut milk, kefir,yogurt, she is gluten free etc;
I am hesitant to add iodine since she is allergic to the iodine used for ct's surgery etc; and I know I can use a natural one, but kelp just seems safer for now.
she takes SA and vitamin D & enzymes since during and after radiation,
I have read about armour but I am abit hesitant, since we keep kosher and armour is from porcine. I have looked into bovine dessicated thyroid but have read mixed and can't find anything reliable.
I would love if anyone could chime in with some suggestions, Iam kinda on m own here , since she is 14 even some of the natural dr.s I have spoken with are hesitant to treat her.
She will be 15 in June, thanks for any support :)
