~ Food Has Power ~
You all know way more than I do about how x relates to y and the role of z so maybe you can help me sort through some things....I've been either pregnant or breast feeding for the past 8.5 years straight. I think that this has taken a toll on me-I seem to be pretty sensitive to hormones (not sure which) I know that I got a ton of cavities when I went through puberty and had a bunch of root canals/a tooth extraction, etc. in the years since having my first. Something present in my saliva seems to be hindered by my hormonal changes...I had subchorionic hemorrhages and spent almost 6 months on bed rest with my most recent pregnancy. During this time I stumbled upon enough information (thanks Pat!) to wonder about MTHFR and requested that I be tested. I am homo c677t. I'm now 9 months post-delivery and I have just been diagnosed with cancer (liposarcoma,) although I first noticed the lump over a year ago so I must have had cancer while pregnant as well. I will be starting radiation in 2 days and having surgery in a few months.
After much soul-searching I have decided to wean my son so that I can promote my own healing and actively detox as it seems to me that my body is crying out for some attention/intervention and I don't want to release a tidal wave of toxins into the milk that I then feed to him.In my heart I know that it will better serve him and my other children to have a healthy mom for many years to come.
All that said, I'm not really sure how I should start approaching healing/detox in terms of nutritional support, supplements, enzymes, etc. I intend to consume a lot of kombucha and love my coconut milk yogurt (I culture my own). I can culture veggies although I don't currently eat them often, although I know that I should. I also can make coconut water kefir as I have grains. Of course there are a million and one different ways that I could throw $$$ to try to pursue testing, supplements, alternative therapies, etc. but my resources are far from unlimited and my experience thus far has shown me that more often than not I find my way to the right path ore rapidly than the professionals whose care I seek out.
So brilliant minds, how do I start to unravel the mystery of how to heal myself?
