Thank you Ms. Pat for the opportunity to just release some thoughts into the universe about my journey concerning holistic living.

Not sure if anyone will ever read this but it's still refreshing to have my say about how making this choice to be better is effecting me and mine.

I'm a child of the eighties. What that means to me is that this whole eating "holistically" was not a priority in my home. Not to mention, I grew up in the south and I'm black so add to that soul food and fried everything and you have my food background. Let me put out the disclaimer that not all black southerners that grew up in the eighties are like me and I try really hard not to endorse stereotypes but I'm sure PLENTY of people know where I'm coming from. Let me also say that my wonderful parents had the best of intentions. They are both fantastic cooks and we ate GOOD food all the time, it just wasn't always the best food for you. The evidence of this is reflecting in the health challenges that they now suffer from. Mom has arthritis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and suffers from obesity. Dad is diabetic and also suffers from obesity. Both are trying now to eat as healthy as possible but old habits die HARD so I pray for them constantly and try to model better habits and pass along good information in love as much as possible.

I'm about 10 years age wise from when they began to have their health issues and I have been working on preventing the issues in my life for about 10 years so with the help of the Lord, I will destroy old curses and habits in my family and my son will grow up knowing a different way of eating but still appreciating all of my family traditions.

I really don't think I'm alone in anything I just said earlier but sometimes it feels like it when I'm trying to "eat right" and all of the wrong, dangerous but delicious food is around and everybody else is looking at me like "get a grip!" or "you gotta die some way so I may as well enjoy this (you fill in the blank)".

I'm really excited about preparing the Master Tonic that Ms. Pat just posted, and I'll give my "testimony" on how it works for me and my family.

To anyone who reads this, please comment if you'd like because my whole reason for posting is to inspire conversation and look for support from likeminded women. Things always seem to prosper better in community.

Thanks and enjoy abundant life!
