PCOS crazy

I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) about five months ago. I found this out after not having a period in six months and I wasn't pregnant, but trying. Now I am to the point where I just want to get healthy and manage/overcome PCOS. I am a missionary right now so I am not in the US. This makes it a little harder, but I am thankful for the advancement in the medical field here. I also have back problems. Two weeks ago I started rehabilitation (therapy) for my lumbar spine…See More

Profile Information

How did you learn about the "Heal Thyself" site?
On FB from Diy Naturals page.
What does "holistic" mean to you?
I have never been asked this question so I have never really articulated it. Yet, when I think of holistic, I see lots of veggies, fruits, grass feed beef, free range chickens, whole grains, and no "artificial" or synthesized products. I am fairly new to this style of life so I am learning a lot and doing what I can to keep my family healthy and whole.
How long have you been interested in holistic living?
For about two to three months now. I have always been one to scrutinize the foods I eat, but now I see they were the wrong types. (low-fat, no-fat, energy bars, fiber-one, etc)
a little about me
I am in my middle twenties, married, and my husband and I are missionaries to Taiwan. I love reading, exercising, cooking, and researching about holistic living. I stumbled upon holistic thought almost by accident. I'm not really sure how the ball got rolling, but one blog led to another and before long I had to start choosing who to follow with care due to the large amount of updates I was receiving. One of the factors that began this journey was a diagnoses of PCOS. My husband and I were trying to conceive for almost 10 months (for six consecutive months of which I never had a menstrual cycle) This worried me so I went to the gynecologist and he told me his 1st instinct was that I had PCOS. My symptoms and the blood work confirmed this. I don't want to take synthetic drugs so I am on a journey to heal my body of this cruel syndrome.
Professional or business affiliations?
My husband and I are founders of Randall Missions.
