~ Food Has Power ~
Maybe you are like me a total kefir fan. I seriously love kefir.
Ever since adding this probiotic to my daily life it has blessed me.
I feel how well my body responds to all the good bacteria. And whenever I have skipped it in the morning (I use it every morning as a sort of yoghurt packed with goodies like berries, nuts, pumpkin seeds, raisins, broken flaxseed and spirulina) I felt my body missed it.
I love to explore health in the widest sense; body, soul and spirit. And whenever I discover something new I want know lots about it. And so it was with kefir.
I started experimenting with kefir. I made tons of smoothies and eventually I discovered what to me is the perfect smoothie. If you check my photo's you'll come across a nice kefir smoothie recipe.
But I wanted to discover more things I could do with this probiotic. I discovered I could make kefir banana bread. After trying a few things I came up with what I like best. You can also find this recipe when you check my pictures.
Finally I came across a recipe online to make a dressing. I tried it right away. And let me tell you; I was hooked! And I still am.
Every day I eat a huge salad packed with lots of nice things. And at least three times a week I add this dressing on top. Life keeps getting better (:
I thought you health food lovers would like to try it as well. It is so easy to make. And quick. And have I mentioned it is delicious?!
Here we go:
Creamy, Probiotic-Rich Ranch Dressing
Makes 3 cups
1 cup créme fraiche (made with raw cream is best)
1 1/2 cups kefir (made with raw milk is best)
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tablespoons parsley (fresh or dried) (I am not a huge fan of parsley so I leave it out)
2 Tablespoons green onions or chives, chopped (I use chives)
1/4 cup raw apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Himalaya salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon minced dill, fresh or dried (optional) (I love dille, so I always add it)
Place all ingredients in a quart-sized mason jar, screw the lid on,
and shake until combined.
I noticed it helps to use créme fraiche that is already soft. When it just comes out of the fridge it is harder to make it mix well with the other ingredients.
I hope you like it just as much as I do.
It would be fun if you let me know if you made it and how you like it.
