Things are changing

Remember, I started with decent vitamin D levels, and now I've increased my vitamin K, in the form of HVBO, and it's helping with fatigue. It appears my days of exhaustion are very highly correlated with vitamin A intake. Including today. I'm thinking the A is using up the K in ways that don't give me more energy. Like mineralizing bone and tooth enamel.

This morning, the palms of my hands seemed extra dry and almost chapped. Mostly around the edges and on my fingers. Then I noticed my elbows were itching/stinging a bit and upon inspection, they've got rough patches all of a sudden. And while making dinner, one of my cuticles got a tiny crack that hurts like a papercut. My task of tonight is to try and figure out what it is I'm depleting, and how can I fix it, ASAP. To add to the mix, I can't say for sure if it's the weather or the nutrients, or impending labor ;) but today I've been really thirsty, craving a different set of vegetables that I don't usually like, and actually bought fish and ate it. The only time in my life I've ever liked fish is when we were eliminating eggs.

First theory:
These are all things that it seems like vitamin A should help, so maybe lay off the K. The problem with that is that it seems like A is the trigger, for both fatigue (yuck) and these new symptoms.

Second theory:
Googling suggests that it might be a low zinc thing. And zinc is used to convert from retinol to retinal. Niacin is also used in the conversion, but I don't *think* I'm getting low niacin symptoms.

Third theory:
Something is allowing my body to show signs of inflammation that it didn't before. And so omega 3's (which normally completely gross me out and I think I've reacted to poorly before) may help. But I'm not sure what the connection with the fat soluble vitamins would be.

Fourth theory:
I can't find anything anywhere to back this one up, but one site suggests "Cracked cuticles, calluses around edge of heels, cracks at sides of fingers: These symptoms indicate abnormally sticky blood platelets which could result in a thrombosis or blood clot type of stroke." Over the past few months, my heels have been getting calloused. Vitamin K is involved in blood clotting (sticky platelets). And there have been two fairly young mothers who died in the past few years, while trying to heal on a GAPS-type diet, due to embolisms. So I'm minorly freaking out over that one.

Fifth theory:
Simple dehydration. For some reason, things are suddenly regulating and I'm actually getting thirsty like a normal person. Until I can catch up on water, the dry skin is mostly a symptom of that.

Sixth theory:
Riboflavin deficiency - it works with vit A for healthy skin. But this doesn't match B2 deficiency symptoms.

Seventh theory:
I'm missing something obvious :)

So, any ideas?
