Hi Amanda, I just wanted to pop over to your page to welcome you to the Growing Your Own Food group! I see you posted a little introduction, thanks! Glad you have you with us!
Hey Amanda, I too am in Texas, in the DFW area and I saw your post on the gardening section. What part of Texas are you in? Maybe we can help eachother on what's best to plant here that'll survive our not-so-forgiving summers! :D Have a great day!
Whoo! I'm in Rowlett. So my question is, did you have anything do particularly well the last two years you dabbled in a garden? Last year was my first time, and it was in containers, and not too much did all too well. I know I'll be doing herbs again, our basil grew like a WEED! So did our chilies, but I'm not a big spicy foods person, so others ate those. I was thinking tomatoes, zucchini, onions (big or pearl size), garlic, and something else possibly, just not sure. Grr! I have yet to find a gardening book that is centralized to the North Eastern part of Texas, since TX seems to have all four types of climates depending on where you are. *sigh*! Trial and error I suppose!
