Hi all,

I am considering juice fasting to jump start weight loss. I'm looking into juicing for about 60 days. The plan is to only drink fresh veggie juice daily with no solid foods. Has anyone juice fast before?

I'm hoping to get some clarification about juicing. I'm researching juicing and have run into contradictory answers. Some of what I read online says that it is safe to juice daily some are saying that it is not safe to juice daily because the juice is too powerful.…

Some of what I read online says that it is safe to juice daily some are saying that it is not safe to juice daily because the juice is too powerful. Each idea seems to have reasons to support why daily juicing is safe and why it isn't.

I will not be under the supervision of a medical doctor as my health insurance only covers conventional doctors and I can not afford a naturopath. I want to do this as safely as possible.

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm hoping that some of you in the smoothie arena might be able to help me out. My eldest is having a hard time w/ his reading. I spoke w/ our chiro yesterday and he said that he's testing deficient for nutrient absorption and that's affecting a bit of his brain function. It's not like it's a MAJOR thing but it's definitely a sign that it could be if we don't correct it. It's not surprising since he has food sensitivities.
I keep trying water kefir and kombucha w/ him but he fights me half the time on it. It has to be really sweet or he won't drink the kefir and he doesn't care for the kombucha.

Our chiro said that he needs enzymes but he can't swallow pills and he can't eat gummy vitamins because they usually have cane syrup or corn. He said that I may be able to find a liquid form of it that we could try. Firstly, does anyone know of such drops? Secondly, it seems that green smoothies would help w/ the enzymes. How can I get him to take them? There are really only a couple of recipes that I have tried that he has liked in the past and he doesn't like any others. :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
green smoothies, driedtag:heal-thyself.ning.com,2011-01-23:2814160:Topic:195662011-01-23T14:45:39.000ZShttps://heal-thyself.ning.com/profile/SarahYao

I figured I would share this idea so that anyone can have a smoothie anytime! just readily available in your backpack.
Juicerstag:heal-thyself.ning.com,2011-01-19:2814160:Topic:189072011-01-19T17:28:17.000ZShttps://heal-thyself.ning.com/profile/SarahYao

You can add a bit of sweetener, honey or pure maple syrup, as needed. Or use 100% juice or fresh juice for the liquid.

Often, I'll use my herbal infusions as the liquid. And I'll freeze any extra smoothie - flat in a gallon-size Ziploc. This provides a quick frozen 'mixed juice' to toss in the blender in the afternoon as a Pick-Me-Up!
