Hi! This is my first time posting a question so I hope I'm doing it in the right place :0)

My friend's mom actually approached me about some feminine issues because she knows I'm learning about healing with Real Food, and doctors that she has consulted haven't been able to give her a diagnosis or solutions. Her problem is that she has really heavy periods- REALLY heavy. They are accompanied by very painful cramps and intense fatigue. It's been like this for a long time (years- always?). She's…

She's 42, no menopause yet. Doctors ran lots of tests (ruled out cancer and thyroid) but didn't bring anything to her attention that might be the cause- simply suggested B12 supplement pills. Have you or any of your subscribers had any experience with this?

My first thought was hormone imbalance maybe? I would really appreciate any thoughts people might have to share on what might be wrong, and how she can change her diet to heal herself (since the doctor's don't seem able to). Thanks in advance!

My 11 yr old daughter has a severe itchy scalp. She has very thick hair and the baking soda & ACV didn't go over very well. I am looking for something gentle, but effective as far a washing, etc. She also has little bumps on the back of her arms. Could this be related? ALSO~ I need to get away from having so much wheat in the morning. I need suggestions for breakfast other than pancakes. :)

Thank you!

I am looking for more information on teeth!. I have switched my kids, well and my toothpaste from herbal 'natural' healthfood store bought toothpaste to toothsoap. My younger son especially is so incredibly prone to cavities and has already gotten at least 8 filled and one with a cap. I am looking at doing infusions with herbs and have heard perhaps nettles, horsetail and red raspberry leaf would be good ones. Hi Pat.
Unfortunately, my diet is pretty poor. I am working processed foods out and more whole foods in.
I haven't historically eaten breakfast but am trying hard to make it a habit.
I do take some OTC probiotics and just received my first batch of starter water kefir grains. They are still recovering from their journey here and should be ready for their first batch in a couple of days.
I try to use olive oil exclusively.
I eat fish as often as I can, mostly sushi. I don't buy fish from the store because I was raised in the Florida Keys and it pains me to pay for fish and especially for fish that I don't know where it came from. The thought of eating farm raised fish scares me and seems so unnatural.
I have not located a local source for grass fed beef. I do have emails out to a couple of local farms about availability. I don't eat that much meat but I would love to locate a local option for this.
I admittedly don't eat enough fruits and veggies. I am working on this too. Baby steps. :-)
No real aversions, although I do not like green peppers.
My blood pressure has always been on the low side of normal. Salt consumption is nominal.
I have tried papaya extract for the reflux in the past and it did not help.
Sleep is always an issue for me. I can sleep all the time. I am always tired and sleep too much.
I had scoliosis surgery when I was 12 and am suffering from lower back pain as a result, but no pain other than that. Exercise has become increasingly difficult. I have started feeling worse than normal. Even the smallest amount of exertion makes me feel like I need to stop. I have never been overweight until the past three years or so. I am not happy being overweight and feeling like I can't exercise.
I do try to avoid MSG. I don't check every label, but if I do see that it is included, I will find something else to eat.
Not pregnant, not trying to conceive and not nursing. No amalgam fillings ever.

Thanks in advance for any assistance. It is much appreciated!

Hi. I am brand new here. I have been a fan on facebook for a couple of weeks and just found the forum. I have a couple of health issues and really want to find natural ways to heal. I currently take synthroid for hypothyroidism, prevacid for acid reflux and propranalol, a beta-blocker, for tachycardia (rapid heart rate). I have the most issues with the beta-blocker. I am tired of taking medicine. I am only 34 and I feel way older than I am. I currently take synthroid for hypothyroidism, prevacid for acid reflux and propranalol, a beta-blocker, for tachycardia (rapid heart rate). I have the most issues with the beta-blocker. I have gained weight since being prescribed and I have major heat issues. I am always hot on this medicine. The pharmacist told me the first time I picked this medicine up that my body would no longer be able to cool itself down. He was not kidding. I live in Florida and I avoid going outside at all costs. It is really affecting my life. I feel so desperate to be off of this medication. Please help. Start HERE. My brother-in-law is really struggling with his asthma, partly affected by seasonal allergies. They don't have insurance and are paying all this money for steroids and inhalers and he's doing more rounds of antibiotics. He wasn't interested in other options but at this point with so many drugs and no relief he might.
