My three year old went through a phase of rashes around the mouth which was diagnosed as "perioral dermatitis"...which to me sounded like medical speak for rashes around the mouth!! Typical treatment is a long course of abx. Not willing to do that, I tried upping her coconut oil taken internally as well as applying topically. Was cleared in a couple of weeks!

Yes, I thought food intolerance as well. We homeschool so that rules out school food vs summer time foods. I have noticed more that he tends to do it when he is excited or stressed. Sometimes it will start because his lips are dry and then he starts licking them. It is the acid of his saliva that makes it looked chapped and is more of a "burn. I would be interested in the vitamin you read obout as well! Thanks!<br />
